Pepeliaev Group has made great strides in the Pravo.ru-300 ratings
Pepeliaev Group has achieved exceptional results in the Pravo.ru-300
ratings. For instance, the Currency Regulation and Currency Control
Practice, having put itself forward in the Foreign Trade category for
the first time, was immediately ranked in Group 1. The Environmental
Practice has risen from Group 3 to Group 1. In the Natural
Resources/Energy category, the firm has ascended from Group 2 to Group
1. The Intellectual Property and Trademarks Practice was ranked in Group
1 in the “consulting” and “registration” sections, while the Bankruptcy
and Anti-Crisis Protection of Business Practice received the same
acclaim in the “restructuring/consulting” section.

Nine of Pepeliaev Group’s practice and sector groups have entered Pravo.ru’s Tier 1
Nine of Pepeliaev Group’s practice and sector groups have entered Tier 1 of the Pravo.ru rating. This is the first time that we have been included in Tier 1 of the Compliance (Tier 1) and Environmental Law (Tier 1) categories. In the Digital Economy section, in which we also feature for the first time, Pepeliaev Group has been placed in Tier 2.

Pepeliaev Group has been recognised as Law Firm of the Year for Tax Law in Russia according to the major legal peer review publication Best Lawyers™ 2020*. In addition, Sergey Sosnovsky, Partner, and Head of the Tax Practice in the St Petersburg Office, has been named Lawyer of the Year for Tax Law in St Petersburg. This year, 22 lawyers of Pepeliaev Group have been ranked by the publication for the first time, one of whom has debuted in three categories at the same time while another has made it in two categories. Therefore, approximately one quarter of all Pepeliaev Group’s lawyers (36 out of 160) are on the list of Best Lawyers™.

Owing to the efforts of Pepeliaev Group's lawyers, the Russian Federal Customs Service has reimbursed to our client interest on excess customs payments recovered by it
The lawyers of Pepeliaev Group’s customs practice have successfully completed a project that involved protecting the interests of our client, a major Russian shipping company, before the Russian Supreme Court's Judicial Panel for Economic Disputes. A year after the court decided in favour of the client, owing to the efforts of our lawyers, the Federal Customs Service transferred to the client interest of almost RUB 50 million on excess customs payments it recovered.

Providing legal support to Chinese business within the framework of an anti-dumping investigation
Pepeliaev Group’s lawyers provide legal services to the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME) as well as to a number of Chinese producers and exporters of aluminium alloy wheels within the framework of an anti-dumping investigation. The project is being implemented in cooperation with the law firm Zhong Lun Law Firm, Beijing, China.

The lawyers from Pepeliaev Group’s Customs and Foreign Trade Regulation Practice successfully defended one of the major manufacturers of plastic windows - REHAU - in a project that involved challenging decisions of the Federal Customs Service. The essence of the dispute was the classification of imported REHAU goods.
