Valentina Orlova has received an official message of thanks from the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO)

WIPO’s Director General Francis Gurry has expressed his personal gratitude to Valentina Orlova, Head of the Intellectual Property and Trademarks Practice at Pepeliaev Group, for her participation in organising the intellectual property round table held on 21 October.

The event was organised by the Committee for Property and Judicial System of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (abbreviated in Russian as “RSPP”) together with the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Patents and Trademarks (abbreviated in Russian as “Rospatent”) and WIPO’s representative office in Russia. Valentina Orlova was invited as the moderator of the round table.

The participants in the discussion included delegates from WIPO, Rospatent and businesses who are members of the RSPP. They discussed the main challenges in the legal protection of inventions, trademarks and industrial designs, as well as the key issues and changes in alternative dispute resolution.

According to Mr Gurry, the event was marked by the keen interest of the parties, insightful discussions and sharing of valuable experience between the speakers and the attendees: “This event will serve as a reference point for WIPO in holding similar events in other countries”, he concluded.
