The Tax Pharmclub has held a meeting at Pepeliaev Group
Pepeliaev Group together with representatives of business have held a scheduled meeting of the Tax Pharmclub. The meeting was attended by more than 50 tax and legal professionals working for pharmaceutical companies. The club meeting was held online on 3 December.
The participants discussed the most topical issues of the pharmaceutical industry. Maria Nikonova, a partner at Pepeliaev Group, spoke about contentious issues connected with personal income tax and insurance contributions being assessed on hospitality expenses of healthcare professionals.
Svetlana Titova, head of the tax department at STADA, shared her experience of organising the online processing of electronic expense reports and spoke about the practice of paying out bonuses to distributors for the performance of supply agreements.
Sergey Savseris, a senior partner at Pepeliaev Group, and Anton Nefedov, a specialist in the tax department at Novo Nordisk, discussed the trial court’s judgement in the Novo Nordisk case. The participants in the discussion shared their impressions about the course of the process, in which they were directly involved, and discussed the arguments that helped them to win the tax case.
Among those taking part in the meeting of the club were representatives of leading pharmaceutical companies, including Abbott, R-Pharm, Abbvie, and Pfizer among many. An open exchange of opinions allowed the participants to synchronize their view of current taxation issues and proved to be very productive.
