The leading international legal ranking Best Lawyers™ 2022* has acclaimed 46 lawyers from Pepeliaev Group in Russia.

Senior partner Rustem Ahmetshin (tax law, since 2014) and partner Julia Borozdna (employment law, since 2010) have been acknowledged as lawyers of the year.

Starting from 2022, the following lawyers have been included in the Best Lawyers ranking: head of the criminal defence of business practice Maxim Koshkin (criminal law). leading expert Olga Puchkova (family law), head of the legal protection of information practice Dmitry Zykov (legal protection of information) and head of the banking and finance practice group Lidia Gorshkova (banking and finance law).

Managing partner Sergey Pepeliaev has been nominated for the tax law category in Best Lawyers since 2009. Natalia has also been acknowledged in the Administrative Law and Regulatory Law categories. Elena Ovcharova, counsel at Pepeliaev Group, has also been named in the Regulatory Law category.

Ekaterina Lebedeva, head of the international litigation and arbitration practice, is acknowledged for the first time in Arbitration and Mediation. The Arbitration and Mediation category also features senior partner and head of the St Petersburg Office Sergey Spasennov (since 2021), and partners Yulia Litovtseva (since 2021) and Roman Bevzenko (since 2018). Ekaterina Lebedeva and Roman Bevzenko have been also included in the International Arbitration practice area. Roman has this year made his first appearance in the GR category, which has been featuring the head of the information and analytical department, Vadim Zaripov, since 2021.

Partner Igor Marmalidi has been a recommended expert for services in the banking practice area since 2021.

Partner Ilya Bolotnov has been recommended for the first time in the M&A practice area of the Best Lawyers ranking. The M&A practice area also features senior partner and head of the St Petersburg Office Sergey Spasennov (since 2009), as well as partners Nikolay Solodovnikov (since 2020) and Sergey Sosnovsky (since 2014).

Partner Alexey Konevsky has been hailed in three practice areas at the same time: Construction Law, Land Use and Zoning Law, and Real Estate Law. The latter area also features partner Natalia Stenina (since 2018) and Elena Krestyantseva, head of the land law, real estate and construction practice in the St Petersburg Office (since 2020). Partner Alexander Kosov (since 2020) and head of the Sakhalin Office Andrey Mikulin (since 2021) feature in the Customs Law category. Alexander has also been acknowledged in Best Lawyers in Foreign Trade since 2021.

Head of the employment and migration law group Anna Berlina has been hailed in the Employment Law practice area since 2020.

Natalia Prisekina, partner and head of the Far East Office, has made her first appearance in the Energy and Natural Resources practice area. Managing partner Sergey Pepeliaev has also been recommended in this practice area since 2021.
