Pepeliaev Group would like to remind you that 30 April is the deadline for filing personal income tax returns.

As a rule, if you receive income solely through employment at Russian companies, you will not have to file a tax return, as your employer has already withheld tax fr om your salary.

Please note, however, that the range of situations wh ere such a tax return should be filed is quite extensive.

(A) Tax return to pay additional tax

You need to file a tax return, in particular if you:

- received foreign source income
- received income that is not subject to withholding tax, for example, from the sale of personal property, lease of real estate, etc.
- received valuable gifts from legal entities and individuals that are not members of your immediate family.

(B) Tax return to receive a tax refund

You need to file a tax return if you want to take advantage of tax deductions, for example, deduct taxes on any amounts spent on medical care, education or the purchase of an apartment. This would enable you to recover the tax withheld at source.

In practice, the filing of personal income tax returns gives rise to a number of issues, in particular if the income was obtained from transactions with financial assets and/or from foreign sources. Our experts have extensive experience of resolving such issues. Over many years we have been assisting our individual VIP clients with the filing of personal income tax returns, the calculation of the tax base and assessment of the tax to be additionally paid to the budget or refunded from the budget. As a rule, we do not restrict ourselves to technical work involving the filing of a tax return. Our task is accomplished when a tax return is admitted and reviewed by the tax authority and any possible disputes with the tax officer are settled.

Pepeliaev Group professionals are ready

- to prepare promptly your personal income tax return by the deadline of 30 April
- to prepare an adjusted tax return if you are not sure whether the tax return you submitted independently was filled out completely and accurately
- to reconcile with the tax authority personal income tax and other taxes, including transport tax, property tax or land tax.
