Russia: A New Wave of Vaccination Requirements
Moscow and other regions of Russia are stepping up measures to increase the vaccination rate of the population against COVID-19.
The Chief Sanitary Doctor of Moscow made a decision (Decree No. 3 dated 19 October 2021) to increase requirements for the mandatory vaccination of employees in specific industries (trade, public transport, courier services, theaters, etc.). According to the new Decree, companies operating in these areas shall be obliged to vaccinate at least 80% of all employees by 1 January 2022.
Similar requirements have been introduced in the majority of Russia’s provinces. In some areas, employers are recommended to give an employee two paid days off for vaccination.
