Russia is preparing to ratify the multilateral Convention dated 24 November 2016 which is designed to ensure the coordinated implementation of the BEPS Plan - a draft Federal Law has been prepared.

The State Duma’s spring session resulted in a number of significant tax laws being adopted, some of which the Russian President has already signed.

On 16 June Resolution No. 693 of the Russian Government was signed ‘On the implementation of the international automatic exchange of financial information with competent authorities of foreign states (territories)’. 

The Federation Council has ratified the new Convention between the Russian Federation and the Kingdom of Belgium on the avoidance of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and on capital and a Protocol to it.

Russia has approved a Draft Protocol to amend the Convention between the governments of Russia and Sweden on the avoidance of double taxation with respect to taxes on income. 

The Chairman of the Russian Government (the “Government”) has signed a resolution assigning the status of ‘priority development territories’ to 19 single-industry towns (known in Russia as 'monotowns') in Russia. Now, out of 319 monotowns in Russia, 59 have the status of a Priority Social and Economic Development Area.
