Roman Bevzenko has defended his Doctor of Laws dissertation
Pepeliaev Group’s Partner and Head of Special Projects Practice Roman Bevzenko has successfully defended his Doctor of Laws dissertation dedicated to the topic: Pledge, Lien and Title Security Structures. The defence took place on 31 May before the dissertation council of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.
Before joining Pepeliaev Group, Roman headed the Russian Supreme Commercial Court's Private Law Division. He was actively involved in drafting and discussing the key clarifications of the Russian Supreme Commercial Court in civil law matters between 2008 and 2014. Roman was personally responsible for drafting several of the most significant resolutions of the Plenum of the Russian Supreme Commercial Court and information letters of the Presidium of the Russian Supreme Commercial Court in the following areas: security for obligations; rights to real estate; and the law of obligations.
From 2008, Roman has been a member of the working group for drafting the Concept for Improving Civil Law and the new draft of the Russian Civil Code. He has worked successfully in the sub-group devoted to the general provisions of the Russian Civil Code, proprietary rights, and financial transactions and securities.
Roman is also active as a lecturer. He has authored more than 150 academic papers.
