As part of the regional SPILF programme, Pepeliaev Group conducted a seminar on BEPS at its Krasnoyarsk office
On 19 May 2016, the seminar “Implementing the OECD’s plan for fighting against tax base erosion and tax avoidance (BEPS) in judicial practice. First results and significance for taxpayers” was held at Pepeliaev Group’s Krasnoyarsk office. The seminar was conducted as part of the regional programme of the Saint Petersburg International Legal Forum.
Egor Lysenko, Head of the Siberian Office of Pepeliaev Group, participate as the keynote speaker. In his speech, Egor described what the OECD’s Action Plan on BEPS is and how it affects Russian tax dispute practice. The speaker also highlighted the key idea of BEPS and its main provisions. On a separate note the speaker discussed the most significant misconceptions related to BEPS.

Following a request from the organisers of SPILF, after the BEPS seminar, the Krasnoyarsk office of Pepeliaev Group broadcast a round table discussion entitled “Measures to counter tax violations when using international treaties. The position of Russian Federal Tax Service and international best practice”, which was held at the legal forum. Sergey Arakelov, Deputy Director of the Federal Tax Service, moderated the round table.
