Pepeliaev Group’s delegates went on a business mission to China in November 2024
Between 11 and 15 November 2024, a delegation from law firm Pepeliaev Group consisting of senior partner Rustem Ahmetshin and partners Natalia Stenina and Ilya Bolotnov visited China on a further business mission.
Within the scope of the visit, the firm's specialists held a seminar in Shanghai dedicated to “Investing in Russia: commercial and legal aspects”.
Natalia Stenina presented a brief overview of Russia’s investment climate and the dynamics of Russian and Chinese investment cooperation. She also touched on the issues that Chinese investors most frequently encounter in Russia. During his speech on the Russian taxation system, Rustem Ahmetshin highlighted key aspects of the 2025 tax reform as well as preferential treatment in Russia for investments. Ilya Bolotnov dedicated his speech to the sustainable development of Russia's IT industry and associated legal matters.
Partner Yuri Vorobyev, head of the banking & finance practice Lidia Gorshkova and associate Anton Pchelkin joined their colleagues online. During their presentations, Pepeliaev Group’s lawyers delved into the most topical issues concerning reciprocal payments and the resolution of disputes between Russian and Chinese counterparties, as well as the protection of trademarks in Russia.
On 13 November, Pepeliaev Group’s partners took part in the Annual Cross-Border Investments and M&A Summit, which gathered over 200 representatives of Chinese business.
