On 11 December Pepeliaev Group's Sakhalin office organised, for the second time, a winter gala reception: “Business and the Law of Sakhalin”. The event included an awards ceremony for the best lawyers of Sakhalin.
Winners in the “Precedent of the year” category were JSC Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Airport, LLC Severspetsstroy and JSC Aurora Airlines whose court cases may be used by other companies for predictive business decision-making or for selecting appropriate methods of protection. Diplomas and valuable prizes were presented to the winners by Yuri Vorobyev, Partner at Pepeliaev Group.
The winners in the “Clash of the Titans” category were announced by Georgiy Grigoriev, Executive Director of the Sakhalin regional office of the All-Russian Non-governmental Organisation Association of Lawyers of Russia. These were JSC Dalmorneftegeophysica, LLC Ecoshelf and LLC Coal Sea Port of Shakhtersk. This category included companies that have resolved complex civil law disputes through litigation.
Featuring in the “Removal of Barriers for Business” category were companies that succeeded in overcoming the difficulties which hampered the development of business and which were dictated by the imperfect nature of state policy or were caused by the wilful infringement of interests of business entities by state bodies. The winners were LLC Solntsevsky Coal Mine, LLC Sigma Trade and LLC Site. Andrey Mikulin, the Head of Pepeliaev Group’s office in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, took the stage to present their awards to the winners.
More than 40 guests representing Sakhalin’s major firms participated in the event. The gala reception was marked by a warm and casual atmosphere, with pleasant additions including a performance by a music band and a delicious dinner.
