Pepeliaev Group secures top ratings in The Legal 500 – 2020

Pepeliaev Group’s bankruptcy and anti-сrisis protection of business practice has climbed one position to enter Tier 2. According to the researchers, partner Yulia Litovtseva is well versed in handling bankruptcy proceedings thanks to her prior experience as a bankruptcy judge. Moreover, the practice group that Yulia Litovtseva heads has substantial expertise in the area of secondary liability. Senior associate Leonid Barkov is also singled out in this category.

Pepeliaev Group has maintained its habitual leading position in tax (Tier 1). Sergey Pepeliaev, managing partner, and Rustem Ahmetshin, senior partner, are marked out as leading individuals. 

Pepeliaev Group’s IP practice has retained its position in Tier 2. According to the rating's experts, Valentina Orlova, the head of the practice, has extensive experience in the commercialisation of IP rights through licensing and franchising agreements in e-commerce and advertising.

The employment law practice has also featured once more in Tier 2. The researchers view partner Julia Borozdna as experienced in the pre-trial settlement of labour disputes and litigation. Head of the legal protection of information group Dmitry Zykov and head of the employment and migration law practice group Anna Berlina are also hailed as being of note in this category. 

The practice providing services for private clients has retained its position in Tier 2. The team from this practice group helps clients to resolve issues relating to family and inheritance law, the structuring of ownership, and migration issues. Partners Julia Borozdna and Yulia Litovtseva together with expert Olga Puchkova are the lead lawyers.

The TMT Group (Tier 3) is headed by partner Natalia Kovalenko and has a strong track record of defending telecoms operators in commercial and tax disputes.
