From September 2025, the Faculty of Law at Lomonosov Moscow State University has introduced a new Master’s programme “Law and Medicine”. The programme has been developed in response to the growing demand in the market for specialists capable of working professionally in such rapidly developing and highly regulated industries as pharmaceuticals, medical technologies, and healthcare.
One of the programme’s co-founders is Konstantin Sharlovsky, a Partner at Pepeliaev Group and Head of the firm's Life Sciences Practice. The programme aims to combine academic depth with genuine practical experience, which is particularly important in preparing specialists for the complex and fast-evolving healthcare sector.
The curriculum covers a wide range of disciplines, from the public-law foundations of healthcare protection, bioethics, and pharmaceutical law to health economics and the regulation of biomedical materials. Alongside lectures and seminars, students will work on practical case studies and participate in research projects addressing topical issues in sectoral regulation.
Graduates of the programme will be well-equipped to pursue careers in pharmaceutical and med-tech companies, healthcare organisations, and law firms, as well as in public authorities. They will also be prepared for academic legal research where law and medicine intersect.
