Natalia Prisekina spoke at the 2024 Eastern Economic Forum

Natalia Prisekina, a partner at and head of the Far East Office of Pepeliaev Group, delivered a presentation at the session “The development of international commercial arbitration in the Asia-Pacific countries” during the IX Eastern Economic Forum. The event was held in Vladivostok on 6 September.

The moderator of the session was Sergey Katyrin, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI). He stressed that, for economic cooperation to develop between Asia-Pacific Countries, an efficient mechanism is required for resolving potential commercial disputes and, as practice has demonstrated, international commercial arbitration serves as such. The International Commercial Arbitration Court (ICAC) and the Maritime Arbitration Commission (MAC) function at the CCI.

During the session, Mr Katyrin thanked Natalia for her work. She will head the MAC’s office in Vladivostok, which will be its first office in the Far East and the second office in Russia. It should be noted that the ICAC’s office has been successfully operating in the region since 2019.

Among the speakers at the event were: Sergey Kostin, chairman of the ICAC and MAC at the CCI; Anna Arkhipova, deputy chairman of the MAC; Dmitry Podshebyakin, director of the Arbitration and Mediation Centre of the CCI; Igor Krasnov, head of the legal directorate of the VEB.RF State Development Corporation; Hemant Gupta, Chairman of the Indian International Arbitration Centre, and Cunyuan Zhang, Head of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.
