Pepeliaev Group and Eurofast organised a tax conference in Limassol
On 4 October in Limassol a conference took place which was dedicated to the topic: “Cyprus-Russia: the end of the relationship or a new affair? Practical examples of preventing tax disputes”. The conference was jointly organised by Pepeliaev Group and Eurofast.
At the beginning of the event, Mr. Deni Musaev, the Counsel of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Cyprus, and Ms. Doxia Nikia, the President of the Cyprus International Business Association, addressed the guests with a welcome speech.
The agenda of the conference included: recent changes in legal practice relating to the intragroup payments being reclassified as dividends subject to withholding tax, tax audits of foreign holding structures and investment companies in Russia as well as practical aspects of restructuring and the justification of the economic substance of transactions when activity is performed through Cyprus companies.
From Pepeliaev Group, Rustem Ahmetshin, Senior Partner, Andrey Kirillov, Senior Associate, spoke alongside Eurofast Director Maria Nicolau at the conference. Over 100 participants in total attended the conference.
