Pepeliaev Group heads the 2011 Pravo.ru ratings

Pepeliaev Group has topped the 2011 Pravo.ru-300 ratings of Russian law firms and been hailed as the best in the areas of tax and labour law (http://pravo.ru/stat/rating2011_results/)

In addition, Pepeliaev group was among the leading firms in: corporate law/mergers and acquisitions, domestic and international arbitration, antimonopoly law, the protection of intellectual property, land law, legal support for telecommunications and media, insolvency, and natural resources/energy.

The Pravo.ru-300 law firm ratings are not based solely on criteria pertaining to finances (revenues, profit) and statistics (number of employees, number of lawyers, structure of a firm’s departments). They are also dependent on an analysis of large-scale and significant projects undertaken by firms, as well as the feedback and recommendations from clients. More than 250 law firms working in Russia took part in the ratings, which were produced in association with the newspaper Vedomosti with the results being audited by Ernst & Young.

Pepeliaev Group has been recognised on a number of occasions as the leading provider of legal advisory services in Russia. The RA Expert ratings have, between 2003 and 2011, classed Pepeliaev Group as the leading legal services provider among Russian law firms and consulting firms. In tax consulting, the results for 2003-2011 have consistently listed Pepeliaev Group in the top three.

Pepeliaev Group has been included in the Guide to Foreign Law Firms produced by the American Bar Association.

The leading independent international law firm directories Chambers and The Legal 500 have recognised Pepeliaev Group as an undisputed leader in providing legal services in Russia in the area of tax. Affirming this assessment, Chambers Europe also hailed Sergey Pepeliaev as the best tax lawyer in Russia, naming him a Band Star (the top rating).

Chambers and The Legal 500 also recommend Pepeliaev Group as a reliable legal partner for doing business in Russia in the following sectors: antimonopoly law; dispute resolution; general legal issues; intellectual property; corporate law and M&A; real estate; and labour law. In 2011, Pepeliaev Group took the first place in the ‘Staff Motivation’ awards organised by Legal Insight magazine.

Last year, Pepeliaev Group was awarded the prize of Best Russian Law Firm of 2011. The awards ceremony took place on 23 June in Paris in the context of the International Legal Alliance Summit & Awards 2011.
