Pepeliaev Group hosted the first session of the 'Banking tax club'
Pepeliaev Group, together with business representatives, has held the first session of the 'Banking tax club'. The meeting took place on 5 June in Pepeliaev Group's office.
The session featured a discussion of the most topical tax issues for the banking business, including: tax implications of working with a bank's assets, and applying OECD documents, while forming the price of intra-group services.
Those attending the meeting analysed several court cases and worked through potential solutions which might help to avoid court. Analysis of the first case led to a controversial discussion between the members of the Club, demonstrating plenty of attention to the topic chosen.
The moderator of the meeting was Anna Krygina, Senior Associate of Pepeliaev Group. Sergey Pepeliaev, managing partner of the firm, Ivan Khamenushko, senior partner, Lidia Gorshkova, head of the banking and financial practice group, also took part in the discussion.
The representatives from leading international and national banks also attended the first session of the Club: Raiffeisen bank, VTB, Royal Bank of Scotland, Goldman Sachs International, Bank of Moscow, HSBC and many other banks.
