Pepeliaev Group nominated for European Legal Team of the Year

Pepeliaev Group lawyers were nominated for the 2011 European Legal Team of the Year within the annual British Legal Awards held by Legal Week magazine.

Legal Week experts highly commended Pepeliaev Group lawyers for their performance in the FIFA project involving the staging and hosting of the football World Cup in 2018.

“Pepeliaev Group won the FIFA tender for the project involving legal support in staging and hosting the football World Cup in 2018 thanks to the fact that it is a leading Russian firm which possesses considerable resources across all areas of the law,” explains Sergey Pepeliaev, Managing Partner of Pepeliaev Group. The lawyers of the firm joined the project at the point when the host to stage the World Cup 2018 was being selected. Being instructed by FIFA, Pepeliaev Group lawyers assessed the applicants’ submissions in terms of compliance with FIFA standards and requirements, as well as Russian legislation, assessed guarantees provided by the applicants, etc. Lawyers from all practice areas of the company were involved in the project.

By holding its British Legal Awards Legal Week aims to mark the achievements of law firms, legal departments and individual lawyers providing their clients with the best solutions in the context of recovery from global economic downturn. The nominees are selected by an independent jury comprising lawyers who represent well-known companies, as well as legal experts and heads of law firms.
