Pepeliaev Group will represent the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade before the Russian Federal Tax Service
The Russian representative office of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (“CCPIT”) has chosen Rustem Ahmetshin, Senior Partner at Pepeliaev Group, to be the official representative of Chinese investors at the Advisory Council of the Russian Federal Tax Service for dealing with foreign investment companies.
According to the official letter of the CCPIT: “The interests of the CCPIT and Chinese investment companies will be protected to the maximum extent if the position of the CCPIT’s official representative at the Council is occupied by a lawyer specialising in tax law and having sufficient qualifications to maintain an equal and open dialogue with the Russian Federal Tax Service”.
“For many years Pepeliaev Group has been the leader of the Russian legal market in tax law,” commented Rustem Ahmetshin on the news. “The extensive experience of our experts will allow the interests of Chinese business to be protected to the maximum extent in Russia and will contribute to the improvement of its positions.”
The main tasks of the Advisory Council of the Russian Federal Tax Service for dealing with foreign investment companies are: the development of recommendations with respect to issues of legal regulation arising in the practice of tax administration; and the development of recommendations based on draft of explanations related to topical issues of mutual interest associated with the activity of foreign investment companies in the area of taxes, levies and insurance contributions, and with respect to draft laws for which the Russian Federal Tax Service is preparing comments and amendments.
The Council members carry out expert and advisory communication aimed at building an open dialogue between the Russian Federal Tax Service and foreign investment companies.
