Sergey Pepeliaev has been awarded the Anatoly Koni medal, which is the highest award of the Russian Ministry of Justice

The Minister of Justice Konstantin Chuychenko has awarded Sergey Pepeliaev, Managing Partner of Pepeliaev Group, the Anatoly Koni medal.

This medal is awarded for a substantial contribution to implementing state policy in the field of justice and legislative drafting, and for effectively securing the rights and legal interests of individuals and the state.

Sergey Pepeliaev has over 35 years' hands-on experience of dealing with corporate and personal taxation issues. He has resolved countless challenging situations involving investments and court proceedings.
As a practitioner, he has defended the rights and interests of companies before the Russian Constitutional Court, the Russian Supreme Court, and commercial courts in the most large-scale and significant court disputes regarding whether additional taxes and payments had been lawfully assessed. On a number of occasions he has sought to have unlawful regulations of the Russian Government, ministries and state authorities repealed and unconstitutional provisions of laws set aside. He has also advised on matters concerning the taxation of investments, day-to-day business operations, and much more.

Sergey Pepeliaev has previously received other state awards, including a medal “For the Protection of Rights and Freedoms of Citizens”, the Fyodor Plevako silver medal, a medal from the Ministry of Justice “For Faithfulness to an Attorney’s Duty”, the Gavrila Derzhavin medal of the Ministry of Justice, a Letter of Gratitude from the Minister of Justice, and a Letter of Commendation from the Ministry of Justice.
