Sergey Pepeliaev has become a member of the new Council for the Development of the Arbitration Process

The Council for the Development of the Arbitration Process was created in accordance with the Federal Law “On arbitration (arbitration proceedings) in the Russian Federation” and carries out its activities in accordance with an Order of the Russian Ministry of Justice.

 
The main task of the Council is to assist in creating a favourable environment for the development of the institution of independent and professional arbitration (arbitration proceedings) in Russia. The key functions of the Council include the spreading of and support for Russian and international practices in the area of arbitration; and consideration of drafts of regulations relating to arbitration proceedings. Also, based on its recommendations, the government will issue permits to non-commercial organisations for creating arbitration courts.

 
The Council comprises of 15 members: professors from universities, members of public councils and government officials. The Chairman of the Council is Konstantin A. Chuichenko, the Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation.
