A Senior Associate from Pepeliaev Group is in Shanghai under an exchange programme with a leading Chinese law firm

Together with one of the largest Chinese law firms, Pepeliaev Group is implementing an exchange programme for lawyers which is aimed at exchanging practical experience, immersing them in specific cases, developing cross-cultural communications and contacting potential clients. Our partner in this programme is a major Chinese law firm which has more than 1,000 lawyers in 40 offices throughout China and several representative offices abroad. The firm has been awarded a number of sector-based awards and holds leading positions in Chinese and international rankings.

As part of the exchange programme, Ksenia Stepanushkina, a Senior Associate from Pepeliaev Group’s Corporate Practice, will work together with Chinese colleagues and participate in several seminars where she will speak on Russian corporate law matters.

The exchange programme with a Chinese law firm is a new stage of our progressive effort to develop long-term professional relationships with partners from China, ensuring that our Russian and Chinese clients receive the full range of high-quality and effective legal services.

For over 10 years Ksenia has been specialising in corporate law, which includes providing advice on corporate matters to major Russian and foreign companies. She has experience of implementing different projects including conducting due diligence, providing transactional support, settling corporate law issues in Russia, providing legal support to companies in foreign jurisdictions, performing cross-border transactions for the pledging of shares, structuring transactions for the sale and purchase of shares, as well as developing corporate governance models.

For over a decade now at Pepeliaev Group, we have been operating a specialised practice group, the Chinese Desk, which provides legal assistance for Chinese investors in Russia. The firm’s lawyers provide legal support to Chinese companies in Russia at all stages of a business process, including selecting a region to invest in, minimising the tax burden, protecting IP and a host of other matters.
