Pepeliaev Group’s IP Practice has been reinforced
Head of the IP and Trademarks Practice at Pepeliaev Group Valentina Orlova has been elected a partner at the firm.
Valentina provides support to clients on matters connected with the legal protection of different intellectual property items including means of identification, patented items, selective breeding achievements and copyright items, including computer software and databases. Her overall work experience in the sphere of IP is over 40 years.Of these, she spent 23 years working at the Russian Federal Intellectual Property Service (known in Russia by the abbreviation “Rospatent”).
For more than 11 years, Valentina has been working at Pepeliaev Group. Under her leadership, the firm’s IP Practice has gained entry into Managing Intellectual Property, an influential international directory, and Valentina herself has been awarded the top rank IP Star in the trademarks category. She has also been recognised among the best (Gold) experts in Russia by the individual ranking World Trademark Review – 1000.Valentina's high level of expertise is also confirmed by Chambers Europe, Chambers Global and Best Lawyers.
In addition, on 1 September the team of the Intellectual Property and Trademarks Practice was joined by Maria Geraeva, a Senior Associate.Previously, Maria has worked for more than 6 years at the Moscow office of international law firm Gowling WLG as a patent attorney. Her overall work experience in the sphere of IP is over 16 years.
Maria specialises in protecting and safeguarding intellectual property rights. She has experience of preparing objections against decisions of Rospatent, participating in meetings of the Chamber for Patent Disputes and representing clients before the Intellectual Property Court. Maria successfully provides support in the registration of trademarks in Russia and abroad, working together with patent attorneys in more than 72 countries of the world.
