On 20 May 2026, the AEB’s Annual Intellectual Property Conference, “Intellectual Property in Russia: Finding Solutions through Dialogue between Government and Business” took place.
The event brought together business representatives, advisers and experts to discuss current issues relating to enforcement practice and the development of the intellectual property sector.
Valentina Orlova, Partner and Head of the Intellectual Property and Trademarks Practice at Pepeliaev Group, moderated the session entitled “Intellectual Property Regulation: Areas of Risk and Points of Support”.
The session focused on the most significant issues relating to the development of intellectual property regulation, namely: the prospects for shaping regulatory and enforcement approaches within the Eurasian Economic Union while maintaining a balance of interests among all stakeholders; new rules governing the use of the Russian language in the context of means of individualisation and the search for business solutions; expectations in terms of guidance from the regulator; and legal aspects of the use of generative artificial intelligence, including issues relating to training generative models, authorship and liability, including a user’s liability.
