Prepared a legal opinion regarding attracting a large Chinese investor, setting up a joint venture and using lands. The opinion also covered conditions for foreign investors in Russia, including new tax benefits. We have also, among other things, provided support during negotiations with state-owned oil and gas companies.
The opportunities this project is offering are:
- a surplus of oil or natural gas will be used for the production of methanol. This would break new ground for the development of the petrochemical market in Russia;
- the production of oil products will boost the profit margin of current oil and gas and infrastructure projects on Sakhalin;
- methanol products and/or oil products will be exported to other countries;
- a seaport will be used to export the products and to implement other oil and gas projects on Sakhalin.
