Lawyers of the Far Eastern office helped the client to reduce a penalty in court by more than 50 times

A client of Pepeliaev Group’s Far Eastern Office was sued by a counterparty under a foreign trade contract to recover the amount of an advance payment owing to the failure to supply products. Our client agreed to refund the amount of the advance payment, but objected to the penalty calculated under the contract. As a result of our effective protection of the client in the courts of the first and appellate instances, the court reduced the amount of the penalty by more than 50 times (by almost RUB 5 million).
