In the tough conditions of the epidemic, governments are trying to mitigate the consequences of the crisis. For this purpose they are developing horizontal schemes of state support for the business sector, which has been seriously damaged by a sharp drop in economic activity, as well as a decrease in consumer demand and the level of income. Primarily this applies to such areas as tourism, air carriage, the hotel business, catering, retail, domestic services, sports, culture and entertainment. Different countries and supranational unions are seeking a balance between helping companies, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, not only maintaining competition but also ensuring its subsequent development.

Pepeliaev Group advises that a draft law has been put before the State Duma that provides for amendments to corporate legislation, including to establish procedures for the holding of purely online meetings in JSCs (joint-stock companies) and LLCs (limited liability companies) and to extend to 2021 the effect of the set of temporary anti-crisis measures adopted in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic.

30 November 2020 is the last day when the applications for granting a deferral (instalment plan) of tax payments is granted to entrepreneurs from industries most affected by Covid-19. At the same time, applications may be filed for any payments that become due in 2020 (including in December).
