Within the scope of the visit, on 23 June, the firm's experts held a seminar titled “Investing in Russia: commercial and legal aspects” in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province. During the event, senior partner Rustem Ahmetshin and partners Natalia Stenina and Ilya Bolotnov shed light on the legal issues that are of most importance to Chinese investors, including those planning to enter the Russian market and those already doing business in Russia. Partners Yuri Vorobyev and Lidia Gorshkova also spoke at the seminar online.
On 28 June, in Beijing, the partners from Pepeliaev Group participated in the international One Belt One Road forum of legal services organised by the Beijing Bar. During the session Russia - Central Asia - Mongolia, Rustem Ahmetshin presented a brief overview of the Russian Investment climate and digital transformation. Natalia Stenina dedicated her speech to the trends and prospects of LegalTech and RegTech in Russia. Ilya Bolotnov analysed the data from the most recent research on the issues of applying artificial intelligence in corporate governance.
The forum brought together more than 300 representatives of the legal community and business from 28 countries of Asia, Europe, Africa and South America. Participants of the forum discussed important legal issues in the area of cross-border investments, preventing risks, as well as the digital economy and artificial intelligence, while also exchanging professional opinions and practical experience.
Moreover, in the context of this business mission, Rustem Ahmetshin, Natalia Stenina and Ilya Bolotnov held a series of meetings with current and potential clients of our firm, as well as with representatives of partner law firms in a number of Chinese cities.
