Pepeliaev Group and the Administration of Harbin Area in the China (Heilongjiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone have signed an agreement for strategic cooperation.
Among those who participated in the ceremony, which was held on 27 June, were: Ms Li Hong, Director of the Comprehensive Coordination Office at the Harbin Area Administration, China (Heilongjiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone;
Sergey Pepeliaev, Managing Partner at Pepeliaev Group; and
Natalia Prisekina, Partner, Head of Pepeliaev Group’s Far East Office. Strategic cooperation between the parties will help to improve the mechanism of resolving international commercial disputes and will create a legal business environment of an international standard for companies from Russia and Northeast Asia.
The China (Heilongjiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone was created in 2019 in Heilongjiang province. It includes Harbin, Heihe and Suifenhe areas and has a total area of 120 sq. km. Of these, Harbin Area covers almost 80 sq. km. Owing to its favourable location, well-developed R&D and industrial base, convenient environmental conditions and the long history of trade and economic relationships with Russia, Harbin Area of the China (Heilongjiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone is a key platform for developing comprehensive cooperation between China, Russia and Northeast Asian countries.
The Administration of Harbin Area handles international cooperation matters, important topical research projects and preparing the development strategy for Harbin Area in the Pilot Free Trade Zone. Among other things, the work of the Administration aims to make business easier between Russian and Chinese companies and to create preferences. It is supported by the heads of both states.
