Nikolay focuses mainly on corporate law and for over 20 years he has been advising foreign and Russian clients on corporate and M&A transactions, issues relating to corporate reorganisations and transformations, shareholder conflicts, corporate governance issues, and the structuring of all types of legal entities and holdings within Russia.
He also focuses on developing the digital area. In particular, Nikolay supervises the work of a cross-sectoral Digital Economy Support Group and the development of projects in legal tech, while he also coordinates issues of a company's internal automatisation.
He has extensive experience in managing M&A projects, in particular arranging and handling transactions up to their full closing. This involves carrying out negotiations, developing transaction structures, preparing transactional documentation, performing due diligence, advising on issues of restructuring, and so on.
Nikolay has managed dozens of cross-border and local M&A transactions and major reorganisation projects, including one of the first ‘mixed reorganisations’ in Russia. This involved 40 legal entities being reorganised simultaneously.
He has been actively involved in drafting amendments to the Russian Civil Code as a member of the working group created by the Not-for-Profit Partnership 'Promoting the Development of Corporate Legislation'.
Nikolay has completed the 'Blockchain Technologies: Business Innovation and Application' course at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
He undertakes Java programming.
