The lawyers of Pepeliaev Group’s customs practice have successfully completed a project that involved protecting the interests of our client, a major Russian shipping company, before the Russian Supreme Court's Judicial Panel for Economic Disputes. A year after the court decided in favour of the client, owing to the efforts of our lawyers, the Federal Customs Service transferred to the client interest of almost RUB 50 million on excess customs payments it recovered.
On 15 March, the Non-profit Partnership Corporate Counsel Association held its annual Antimonopoly Forum supported by the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service (“FAS”) and the Eurasian Economic Commission. Experts discussed the fifth antimonopoly package, the abolition of immunity for intellectual property, the draft clarifications of the Presidium of the FAS with regard to analysing competition on commodity markets, the implementation of the National Plan for Developing Competition, issues in the practice of the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Commission’s plans for the future.
On 27 February, a business lunch: “Current trends and hot topics in legislation” was held in Vladivostok. During the event Pepeliaev Group’s experts shared their assessments of and recommendations for the most pressing topics today.
