Federal Law No. 1-FZ was adopted on 30 January 2024 to amend Law No. 61-FZ “On the circulation of medicines”. The amendments are designed to harmonise Russian legislation with the unified requirements for the circulation of medicines on the EAEU market and to improve current regulation.

On 5 January 2024 amendments came into force to the Russian Commercial Procedure Code concerning the timeframes and procedure for commercial legal proceedings.

New amendments to Federal Law No. 127-FZ “On measures impacting (counteracting) hostile actions of the United States of America and other foreign states” dated 4 June 2018 have come into force.

The Russian Supreme Court has solved the issue of a royalty coefficient when mineral extraction tax is assessed on concentrates which contain gold and other precious metals.The Court’s decision allows for excessive tax payments to be avoided and is relevant for all payers of mineral extraction tax.

On 5 December 2023, the State Duma passed Draft Law No. 353266-8 “On amending the Russian Code of Administrative Offences”. The Law provides that fines will be increased for processing personal data without the subject's written consent in cases when such consent must be obtained. 

A number of amendments to the Russian Tax Code, which have been introduced by a law adopted in autumn 2023. The majority of the amendments will apply starting from the new year of 2024, while some will come into effect later.
