Pepeliaev Group has once again confirmed its strong position in the annual ranking of Russia’s leading legal practices and lawyers published by the newspaper Kommersant based on the results of 2026.
In the national ranking, the firm was recognised in 29 categories, including 16 in Band 1. In particular, Pepeliaev Group was ranked among the best in 18 categories in the “Best Legal Practices” category and 11 categories in the “Best Sector-based Practices” category.
Compared with the previous year, the firm has significantly expanded its presence in the research. National categories that are new for Pepeliaev Group include our practices in currency regulation, employment and migration law advice, environmental law, dispute resolution in courts of general jurisdiction for property disputes, as well as sanctions law. Among sector-based areas, the firm was recognised for the first time in manufacturing and industry, as well as agriculture.
Particularly notable was how the firm’s key practice areas were recognised in Band 1 of the national ranking. High rankings were awarded to areas including corporate dispute resolution, foreign economic activity and customs regulation, tax advice and tax disputes, employment and migration law, and environmental law, as well as property dispute resolution in courts of general jurisdiction. In the sector-based ranking, the firm’s practice groups in retail and trade in FMCG, natural resources, and energy were placed in Band 1.
The St Petersburg office of Pepeliaev Group also demonstrated a significant strengthening of its position. According to the results of the research, it was ranked among the best in 10 categories, including 9 in Band 1. High rankings were awarded to our practices in corporate law and taxation, as well as for sectors including natural resources, manufacturing and industry, retail and trade, TMT, transport and logistics, financial and banking, and private wealth.
The ranking also separately recognised experts of the firm in the individual section, which included 14 lawyers from Pepeliaev Group.
