Pepeliaev Group has been recognised as Law Firm of the Year for Tax Law in Russia according to the major legal peer review publication Best Lawyers™ 2020*. In addition, Sergey Sosnovsky, Partner, and Head of the Tax Practice in the St Petersburg Office, has been named Lawyer of the Year for Tax Law in St Petersburg. This year, 22 lawyers of Pepeliaev Group have been ranked by the publication for the first time, one of whom has debuted in three categories at the same time while another has made it in two categories. Therefore, approximately one quarter of all Pepeliaev Group’s lawyers (36 out of 160) are on the list of Best Lawyers™.

Pepeliaev Group’s employment law group has taken part in the preparation of the Russian chapter of an international guide dedicated to gender inequality with regard to salary payment (the International Gender Pay Gap Project). The project was initiated by international law firm Pinsent Masons. 

The Russia listing of the leading international legal rating Best Lawyers™ 2019 contained 14 lawyers from Pepeliaev Group, including two first-timers: PG Partner Yulia Litovtseva has gained recognition in the bankruptcy category and Head of the Tax Practice Group Ksenia Litvinova has been nominated for tax law.

Pepeliaev Group has made striking progress in the Chambers Europe 2018 rankings. In Restructuring/Insolvency: Litigation Pepeliaev Group has risen to Band 3 skipping one band as compared with the last year’s results. In addition, Yulia Litovtseva, Partner and Head of the Bankruptcy and Anti-Crisis Protection of Business Practice, has shown an improvement of her own, rising to Band 4 in individual rankings. 

Experts of law firm Pepeliaev Group have participated in the development of content for the Business Environment platform the establishment of which has been initiated by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Sberbank PJSC. The platform will accumulate services which will be useful for small and medium enterprises. The knowledge base of the platform will cover all topics of a business cycle, from formation to the liquidation of a company.

On 30 November a conference was held in Moscow titled ‘HR-2017: The most topical legal issues’, which was arranged by Pepeliaev Group's Employment and Migration Law Practice. The event was broadcast to the firm's offices in Krasnoyarsk and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

Clients surveyed by the experts of Chambers Europe consider that “the lawyers dig deep to find issues that play a role in the mandate," while the team stands out because it “is flexible and understands clients' needs."
