Our team of lawyers successfully safeguarded the interests of Mucos Pharma CZ (a foreign pharmaceutical company that is a global leader in distribution of enzyme therapy products in Europe, the CIS countries and Russia) in a dispute with a major Russian insurance company. An issue was the recovery of an insurance payout under an insurance agreement along with interest for the use of another party's funds.

The Russia listing of the leading international legal rating Best Lawyers™ 2019 contained 14 lawyers from Pepeliaev Group, including two first-timers: PG Partner Yulia Litovtseva has gained recognition in the bankruptcy category and Head of the Tax Practice Group Ksenia Litvinova has been nominated for tax law.

Pepeliaev Group’s team of lawyers have successfully safeguarded the interests of Daesung Industrial Co., Ltd - a major Korean energy holding company - in the first instance court. Our client was seeking to recover from its Russian contracting party a four-million dollar debt under agreements for the sale and purchase of products manufactured in Korea. The project continued for more than one year.

Roman Bevzenko, Partner and Head of the Special Projects Group at Pepeliaev Group LLC, has become arbitrator and member of the Presidium of the Arbitration Center, which officially started its work on 1 September. The Arbitration Center is a structural unit of the Autonomous Non-profit Organisation “Institute of Modern Arbitration”. 

The annual international IFLR 1000 ratings have named Pepeliaev Group among the top firms for legal support on restructuring and bankruptcy projects (Tier 3). Though much of the firm’s work remains confidential, there are a few matters, which are public knowledge. One example is advising a former shareholder and the CEO of Sitronics during an application for subsidiary liability to be imposed on them in the context of the bankruptcy case of ZAO Digital Electronics.

The international legal directory The Legal 500 has again recognised the professional pre-eminence of Pepeliaev Group among Russian legal practices. 

The international Chambers Global 2015 rankings have again hailed the Tax Practice of Pepeliaev Group and its Managing Partner Sergey Pepeliaev the best in Russia in tax litigation (band 1 and Star Individuals). Mr Pepeliaev is described by sources as a "guru of tax litigation". He enjoys a stellar reputation for his unrivalled expertise in Russian tax law, and continues to actively participate in contentious tax cases.
